Proteinase K
(Molecular Biology Grade)
Proteinase K is a serine protease with broad cleavage specificity. The enzyme, isolated from the fungus Tritirachium album is produced as recombinant protein. It is used in DNA and RNA extraction protocols to eliminate proteins.
Features
- MW 28.9 kDa.
- Specific Activity >30 U/mg.
- High purity (≤ 10 pg DNA/mg; SDS-PAGE >98%).
- Stable in the range of pH from 4 to 12.5, optimum 7.5 – 12.5.
- Active in presence of SDS, EDTA, urea and high temperatures (>56ºC).
