Nucleic Acid Gel Stain
Ethidium Bromide Solution
(Molecular Biology Grade)
Overview
Ethidium Bromide (2, 7-diamino-10-ethyl-9 phenyl-phenantheridium bromide) is a fluorescent dye used for its ability to intercalate between the base pairs of DNA and RNA molecules forming relatively stable complexes with markedly increased fluorescence. This unique property makes ethidium bromide, the most commonly used nucleic acid stain for agarose gel electrophoresis or PAGE.
Ethidium Bromide Solution is a valuable tool for various applications in molecular biology research, particularly in the visualization and analysis of nucleic acids. Detection limit is 1.5 ng/ mm2.
